چکیده
An experimental marine seismic source survey off the northwest Australian coast operated a 2600 cubic inch (41.6 l) airgun array, every 5.88 s, along six lines at northern site and eight southern site. The array was discharged 27,770 times with 128,313 pressure signals, 38,907 three-axis particle motion 17,832 ground signals recorded. Pressure were accurately measured horizontal ranges from 12 m. Particle saturated out to 1500 m range (50% of 230 590 sites, respectively). For unsaturated sound exposure levels (SEL) correlated measures level water acceleration (r2= 0.88 0.95 0.97 southern) 0.60 0.87, effective modelled 247 dB re 1µPa peak-to-peak, 231 1 µPa2 mean-square, 228 µPa2?m2 s SEL 15° below horizontal. Propagation loss ranged ?29 ?30log10 (range) ?38log10(range) site, for measures. These high propagation losses are due near-surface limestone in seabed North West Shelf.

Acoustic pressure and particle motion thresholds in six sciaenid fishes.
Sciaenid fishes are important models of fish sound production, but investigations into their auditory abilities are limited to acoustic pressure measurements on five species. In this study, we used auditory brainstem response (ABR) to assess the pressure and particle acceleration thresholds of six sciaenid fishes commonly found in Chesapeake Bay, eastern USA: weakfish (Cynoscion regalis), spott...
متن کامل1 D Time - Domain Solution for Seismic Ground Motion Prediction
A full time-domain solution for predicting earthquake ground motion based on the 1D viscoelastic shear-wave equation is presented. The derivation results in a time-domain equation in the form of an infinite impulse response filter. A solution in the time domain has several advantages including causality, direct modeling of impulsive and transient processes, and ease of inclusion of nonlinear so...
متن کاملElliptical acoustic particle motion in underwater waveguides.
Elliptical particle motion, often encountered in acoustic fields containing interference between a source signal and its reflections, can be quantified by the degree of circularity, a vector quantity formulated from acoustic particle velocity, or vector intensity measurements. Acoustic analysis based on the degree of circularity is expected to find application in ocean waveguides as its spatial...
متن کاملInfluence of Ground Motion Duration on the Structural Response at Multiple Seismic Intensity Levels
This paper aims to investigate the effects of motion duration on the structural seismic demands, seeking potential correlations between motion durations and structural responses at several seismic intensity levels. Three seismic intensity levels with 100years, 475years, and 2475years earthquake return periods (RPs) are first considered for correlation computations. Spectrally matched ground mot...
متن کاملGROUND MOTION CLUSTERING BY A HYBRID K-MEANS AND COLLIDING BODIES OPTIMIZATION
Stochastic nature of earthquake has raised a challenge for engineers to choose which record for their analyses. Clustering is offered as a solution for such a data mining problem to automatically distinguish between ground motion records based on similarities in the corresponding seismic attributes. The present work formulates an optimization problem to seek for the best clustering measures. In...
